Good to Outstanding and Staying There (GtO) 

This is the BRAND NEW programme from the National Teaching School  and an exciting opportunity for colleagues to develop their teaching to ensure that they consistently demonstrate outstanding practice in their lessons.

This new and updated course blends reflection on classroom practice, observation of other practitioners with facilitated discussion, and explores effective pedagogy to promote progress for pupils through a series of workshops, activities and post-session tasks.  The programme is structured over 6-8 weeks and is delivered by outstanding and highly experienced  facilitators. 

What will it achieve?   Having completed the course participants will…

Take away a series of strategies, skills and techniques that they can use in the classroom to accelerate pupil progress;

Raise levels of engagement and achievement in learning;

Develop personal and professional confidence

Provide opportunities to share best practice with colleagues and coach colleagues to improve;

Supports whole approach to professional development;

Develops teacher motivation;

Supports the new OFSTED framework and appraisal.

Getting to Good (GtG)

This programme is for teachers who wish to develop their practice to deliver good lessons consistently.

What will it achieve?   Having completed the course participants will…

 

  • In addition to the key concepts above, the GtG also helps participants:
  • Know the key concepts underpinning ‘good’ practice in the classroom
  • Understand the impact of these concepts on ‘good’ teaching and learning
  • Be able to deliver these concepts through consistent practice
  • Enable delegates to deepen their understanding of effective teaching and learning through learning activities, lesson observations, facilitated debriefs and follow-up coaching
